Your day

What really matters behind a grocery counter

Scan and check out

Plug in a USB scanner: every barcode scanned adds the item to the receipt. No barcode? It’s in your favourites, or two letters will find it.

Stock you can trust

Every sale updates the stock. Low-stock alerts tell you what to reorder before it runs out, not after.

Open late, worry-free

One person at the till in the evening: PIN login, voids reserved for the manager, drawer counted at closing.

Mixed VAT on one receipt

Bread and milk at 6 %, drinks and cleaning products at 21 %: the right VAT per item, broken down on the receipt and in the reports.

Cash without mistakes

Tap the amount received, the change is shown in large digits and the legal 5-cent rounding is applied automatically.

Your catalogue in minutes

Import your Excel or CSV file: names, prices, VAT, barcodes, categories and stock. No retyping.

Payments

Card, cash, QR code, or all three at once

Customer pays part in cash and the rest by card? No problem. The bank-transfer QR code is an alternative to card payments, with no commission on the transaction.

  • Split payments
  • 5-cent rounding on the cash part only
  • Cash above €3,000 refused automatically

Closing

A balanced till every night

At closing time, count the drawer by denomination: Kassavera compares it with the expected amount and prints the Z report. Differences stand out.

FAQ

Grocery store POS: your questions

Does a grocery store need a certified cash register (SCE/GKS) in Belgium?

No, not today. The certified cash register with a “black box” applies to hospitality businesses serving on-site meals above €25,000 excl. VAT per year. A grocery store, mini-market or night shop is not concerned. You must however offer an electronic payment method and round cash payments to 5 cents, which Kassavera does for you. All the rules.

What hardware do I need for a grocery till?

A touchscreen mini PC, a receipt printer, a cash drawer and a barcode scanner. You can also reuse an existing Windows PC. See the recommended hardware.

Can I import my items from my old till?

Yes, if your old till can export an Excel or CSV file. We help you import it during installation: prices, VAT, barcodes and stock.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Nothing: the till runs on the computer in your shop and you keep selling. Only email receipts and the cloud backup wait for the connection to come back.
